Itinerary

Day 0 : Negombo (Arrival & Rest)

Arriving at Katunayake airport, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can enjoy the interesting coastal town of Negombo. As the first exercise, you will visit the fishing village and return to rest. Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 1 : Kandy

Setting off from Negombo you will ride up to Kandy. En route you will stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where dozens of elephants come down to the river to bath each day. In Kandy you will visit first “Arthur’s seat” where you can perceive the territory beneath in the bird’s eye view including the Temple of Tooth. Most tourists prefer enjoying lunch or sip a beer nearby restaurant. Next we lead you to the Tooth Relic Temple which is supposed to be the most precious place of Buddhist people. Then you will have the opportunity to enjoy shopping in Kandy city and to walk around the Kandy lake in the evening. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 2 : Hunas Falls, Royal Botanical Gardens

After breakfast, you will be back on the bikes to visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. This beautiful garden is renowned for its flora and attracts more than 2m visitors annually. It is home to more than 4,000 species of plants including orchids, spices, herbal plants and palm trees. From Peradeniya you will ride up through tea estates to beautiful Hunas waterfall. Overnight stay in a hotel at Knuckles.

Day 3 : Knuckles Mountain Range

This will be the most adventurous day of the tour. You will ride through Knuckles Forest through cardamom plantation. There will be a stunning rural scenery of nature. After riding through forest, you will go off the beaten track into areas where few tourists ever see. As you climb higher and higher you will go deep into the dense mountain forest giving an atmospheric backdrop to your motorbiking adventure. Overnight stay in a hotel at Knuckles.

Day 4 : Ramboda Falls

You will be back on the motorbikes in the morning making way to Ramboda Falls Hotel. The landscape will continue to amaze you with tea plantations, lush mountains, steep precipices and waterfalls serving as the backdrop for your ride. You’ll stop off at Ramboda Falls, a series of 4 waterfalls fed by clear mountain springs. Overnight stay at Ramboda Falls Hotel.

Day 5 : Ella

After breakfast, you will set off to ride across the highest part of Sri Lanka’s mountain massif. You will visit a tea factory where you will get the chance to experience the tea making process and to sip a fresh cup of Ceylon Tea. Next you will visit Nuwara Eliya city, known as Little England by British Colonials where they used to stay here to escape from the scorching heat of the lowlands. In Nuwara Eliya you will get the chance to see several buildings with colonial era architectural style. Next you will saddle up again to another adventure ride to Horton Plains National Park, an UNESCO world heritage site which consists of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem and also an endemic flora and fauna. You will hike in Horton Plains to visit the World’s End where the plateau comes to a sudden end, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. Next you will descend to Ella where you will stay overnight.

Day 6 : Yala

From Ella, the road snakes down through the mountains onto the great southern plains leading to the Indian Ocean coast. En route you will visit Ravana Fall and then head for the historic Buddhist rock carvings at Buduruwagala, You will ride directly to Tissamaharama via Buttala where you will encounter wild elephants who are addicted to be fed by humans. A great chance to feed them and to capture some good photos. Overnight stay night in Tissamaharama.

Day 7 : Game drive in Yala National Park

Early in the morning you will safari in Yala National Park which is a home for the mind-boggling variety of wildlife species from butterflies to leopards. Get up close to some of these exotic animals and marvel at the astounding beauty of Sri Lanka as you travel through the park in your jeep. Leaving the jungle to follow the majestic coastline of southern Sri Lanka you will reach Mirissa, one of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. Overnight stay in beach hotel.

Day 8 : Mirissa

In the morning you can participate for a whale watching trip in Mirissa as a optional activity or else to stay rest at Mirissa beach. Overnight stay in beach hotel.

Day 9 : Mirissa Beach Rest

Stay leisure at Mirissa beach. Overnight stay in beach hotel.

Day 10 : Sinharaja Rain Forest

After our well-earned rest, you will head inland to famous Sinharaja Forest Reserve, one of the last pieces of natural rainforest remaining in Sri Lanka. Sinharaja is home to an astonishing variety of birds including famous feeding flocks which roam through the forest. The hilly virgin rainforest was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility. It was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Overnight stay near Sinharaja.

Day 11 : Kitulgala

From Sinharaja you will ride round the edge of the Highlands to Kitulgala, location for Sir David Lean’s famous 1957 film The Bridge on the River Kwai. Capping off two-week adventure you will spend the day white-water rafting and canyoning. Under the guidance of expert paddlers, you will white-water raft down the Kelani River passing through class 3 rapids and with occasional swimming breaks. Back on dry land, you will do a short excursion up a narrow canyon near the Kelani River.With full harnesses and expert guides, Overnight stay in Kitulgala.

Day 12 : Negombo Departure

On the last day, you will be guided back to Negombo / Colombo Airport as of your choice.
