Itinerary
Day 0 : Negombo (Arrival & Rest)
Arriving at Katunayake airport, you will be transferred to the hotel where you can enjoy the interesting coastal town of Negombo. As the first exercise, you will visit the fishing village and return to rest. Overnight stay in Negombo.
Day 1 : Kandy
Day 2 : Hunas Falls, Royal Botanical Gardens
After breakfast, you will be back on the bikes to visit Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. This beautiful garden is renowned for its flora and attracts more than 2m visitors annually. It is home to more than 4,000 species of plants including orchids, spices, herbal plants and palm trees. From Peradeniya you will ride up through tea estates to beautiful Hunas waterfall. Overnight stay in a hotel at Knuckles.
Day 3 : Knuckles Mountain Range
Day 4 : Ramboda Falls
Day 5 : Ella
After breakfast, you will set off to ride across the highest part of Sri Lanka’s mountain massif. You will visit a tea factory where you will get the chance to experience the tea making process and to sip a fresh cup of Ceylon Tea. Next you will visit Nuwara Eliya city, known as Little England by British Colonials where they used to stay here to escape from the scorching heat of the lowlands. In Nuwara Eliya you will get the chance to see several buildings with colonial era architectural style. Next you will saddle up again to another adventure ride to Horton Plains National Park, an UNESCO world heritage site which consists of ecosystems such as montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem and also an endemic flora and fauna. You will hike in Horton Plains to visit the World’s End where the plateau comes to a sudden end, a stunning escarpment that plunges 880m. Next you will descend to Ella where you will stay overnight.
Day 6 : Yala
Day 7 : Game drive in Yala National Park
Day 8 : Mirissa
Day 9 : Mirissa Beach Rest
Day 10 : Sinharaja Rain Forest
After our well-earned rest, you will head inland to famous Sinharaja Forest Reserve, one of the last pieces of natural rainforest remaining in Sri Lanka. Sinharaja is home to an astonishing variety of birds including famous feeding flocks which roam through the forest. The hilly virgin rainforest was saved from the worst of commercial logging by its inaccessibility. It was designated a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. Overnight stay near Sinharaja.
Day 11 : Kitulgala
Day 12 : Negombo Departure
